- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS -
What is myofascial release, and how can it help me?
Myofascial release is a gentle, hands-on therapy targeting the fascia, the connective tissue surrounding muscles and organs. By releasing restrictions in the fascia, it helps reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore natural movement patterns. It’s especially effective for chronic pain, injuries, and postural imbalances.
How does vagus nerve stimulation benefit my health?
Vagus nerve stimulation works to activate your body’s relaxation response, helping regulate stress, improve digestion, reduce inflammation, and support emotional well-being. It’s a powerful tool for calming the nervous system and enhancing resilience.
What conditions or issues do you treat?
I work with a wide range of concerns, including chronic pain, sports injuries, postural problems, stress and anxiety, trauma, plantar fasciitis, and more. My approach is holistic, meaning we address the underlying causes of discomfort, whether physical, emotional, or both.
What can I expect during my first session?
In your first session, we’ll start with a conversation about your health history, current concerns, and goals. I’ll do a postural and movement assessment, then begin hands-on treatment based on what we discover. Sessions are tailored to your needs and comfort.
How many sessions will I need?
Everyone’s healing journey is unique. Some people feel relief after just one or two sessions, while others benefit from ongoing support over several weeks or months. I’ll recommend a plan that aligns with your goals and progress.
Will the treatments be painful?
My treatments are designed to be gentle and supportive. While you may feel mild discomfort when releasing tight areas, most clients describe sessions as relaxing and relieving. Communication is key and I’ll always check in to ensure you’re comfortable.
Do you accept medical aid or insurance?
Currently, treatments are private pay. I don’t bill medical aid directly, but I can provide invoices you may submit for possible reimbursement, depending on your plan. Please kindly check with your provider.
What should I do before and after my appointment?
Before your session, wear comfortable clothing and stay hydrated. Afterward, drink plenty of water, give yourself time to rest if possible. Listen to your body gentle movement or stretching can also help integrate the treatment.
